Adequate life insurance is essential to protecting your family. Permanent life insurance policies tend to be more expensive than term policies, which may not be conducive for young adults or families with income limitations. A popular use of term life insurance is most appropriate whenever you want to protect your beneficiaries from a sudden financial burden as the result of your death. Read more...

“Do I need life insurance?” “Is whole life insurance a good investment?” “Is term life insurance risky?” Questions like these are posted in online communities on a daily basis. The answers vary widely, with the term life and whole life camps polarized. The tone of the debate is surprisingly strident. After all, the topic is insurance—not a something expected to inspire strong opinions, let alone strong language. But words like “rip-off,” “scam,” and “waste of money” fly back and forth, sometimes accompanied by rows of exclamation marks or worse. What is behind the brouhaha? And which camp—if either—is right? Regarding coverage of suicide by a life insurance policy. Most states follow the NAIC model which actually does cover death by suicide provided: a.) the policy has been in effect for at least two years, although this does vary somewhat by state, and b.)the exclusionary clause is no longer in effect. While different companies have different underwriting requirements, all may either rate, decline or postpone for mental illnesses, diseases, or conditions. If this is a concern it is vital that the insured and owner be completely candid and honest with the agent they are working with and the company’s underwriters. Any attempt to conceal or misrepresent information which has been specifically requested is fraudulent. All companies have the right and the obligation to protect themselves from unacceptable risk. The states have recognized, however, that mental illness can occur and result in death and does not relieve the company of its contractual obligation. Fortunately for the consumer, most Insurance Commissioners are really very consumer oriented.

You will also find sites that will give you several quotes at one time. Some will call you, usually within minutes, or they will e-mail you. I would advise you to stick with companies you know or have heard of before. Read more...

In choosing annuities and life insurance plans with cash values, it is a good idea to shop around. In shopping around, decisions should not be made on projections, but on the terms of the contract. Proper decision making would certainly entail some worthwhile investigation. A projection is a quote that anticipates the future fund values given a projected interest rate and defined contributions. A projection should not be the sole basis of a purchasing decision. Read more...

It is unfortunate that when you get a whole life insurance quote online much of the important details are omitted. The average person knows little or nothing about this policy. If people had more information they could make a more informed decision on what they are about to purchase. I am one of those who tout whole life insurance with no apology, as this policy has it’s place in the insurance portfolio of many people. This policy fits some needs that term life insurance simply cannot fulfill. Read more...
